Project finance, Islamic finance and sukuk
Introduction
Financing infrastructure, energy and real estate projects, Sharia compliant facilities and sukuk issuance.
Project finance lends against the project's future cash flows rather than the sponsor's balance sheet, so the contracts behind the project become the lenders' security: the concession or offtake agreement, the EPC and O&M contracts, and direct agreements that let lenders step in. Public private partnerships under the Privatization Law follow the same logic.
Islamic finance is the norm in the Kingdom. We work on murabaha, ijara, istisna'a and musharaka structures, alongside the Sharia boards that approve them, and on sukuk issued in the domestic market under the Capital Market Authority's rules or offered internationally.
We act for sponsors, borrowers, lenders and issuers on term sheets, finance and security documents, and the conditions that must be met before money is drawn.
